As an alternative to what it considers “traditional brutal explorers,” Bering Yachts has a new flagship of its fleet. The Bering B165 yacht still pledges the ability to take on sloppy seas and extra-far shores. Simultaneously, she intends to support the perennially appealing Caribbean and Med lifestyles.
For the latter, you’ll find features like a swimming pool on the main deck with sunpads all around. Fold-down bulwarks create more social space in the same area, too. When the B165 is underway, naturally the pool won’t be full—and instead can serve as extra watertoy or gear stowage. This is in addition to dedicated tender stowage aft. The bridge deck, meanwhile, has a fire pit, the place to gather after a day of glacier hiking, for example. The deck also has an alfresco cinema area, a feature several superyacht owners and guests love. There’s nothing quite like watching a movie under the stars in a quiet anchorage in the summertime.
In keeping with her explorer nature, of course, the Bering B165 yacht has a steel hull engineered for long range. Bering Yachts says she’s capable of crisscrossing upwards of 4,000 nautical miles. That range comes courtesy of 18,492 gallons (70,0000 liters) of fuel and twin Caterpillar engines. Top speed should be 15 knots, while cruise speed should be 12 knots. Notably, Alexei Mikhailov, Bering Yachts’ founder, says, “Designing a large engine room, we definitely had alternative energy solutions in mind.” Therefore, you can work with the shipyard team to incorporate hybrid propulsion with a big battery bank.
At 499 gross tons of volume, the Bering B165 yacht provides nice-size accommodations for 12. They include an owners’ deck with nearly 753 square feet (70 square meters) of interior relaxation space. Almost half of that space is the stateroom. The rest is the skylounge, which can be as private as you wish. It has a bar and lots of seating for your guests, though, when you want to entertain.
Your guests should feel like kings and queens, considering the layout of their staterooms. Two VIPs are forward on the main deck, off a lobby leading from the central atrium. The remaining three are below decks. Interestingly, if you prefer cruising with a crowd, a full-beam room forward of the VIPs on the main deck can be a big suite, rather than a media room.
Similarly, a cabin in the crew area can serve multiple purposes. For example, if you venture where pilots are necessary, it can house them. Or, it can be for a nanny or other staff member. Otherwise, eight crew get four cabins down below, with the captain’s cabin on the bridge deck.
No explorer is complete without a perch from which to see distant shores come into view. To this end, the B165 has a crow’s nest.
