Passing through Gibraltar earlier this week en route to St. Maarten, the yacht Launchpad is making her first Atlantic crossing. At 387 feet (118 meters), she’s the largest Feadship delivery yet.
Initial sea trials for the then-named Feadship 1010 occurred in October 2022. Her launch had taken place that August. The megayacht has remained in The Netherlands since then. Due to confidentiality commitments, Feadship has never disclosed details about her other than her hull number.
As for the current owner, who reportedly christened the yacht Launchpad at the shipyard, neither the construction nor design teams are commenting publicly. Some media reports as early as December, though, suggest that Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg had taken a look at her and has therefore acquired her. Since she’s flying under the Marshall Islands flag, the owner could indeed be American.
Regardless, at 4,999 gross tons, the yacht Launchpad is also the largest-volume Feadship so far. Additionally, she’s the largest-volume Dutch-built superyacht to date.
Although no formal publicity has occurred about her features, photos reveal several amenities. A glass-encircled area perches directly above and extends out over the transom, for instance. The two decks above this, meanwhile, appear to have seating and/or dining areas. The curving profile lines are hallmarks of Espen Øino International, too. Notably, a large eye-shaped opening and a circular opening flank full-height windows on two decks.
Information continues to remain confidential about the number of staterooms and décor, although Zuretti Design did acknowledge in 2022 that it handled interior design.
