UPDATE, MAY 17, 2024: Hull number one of the Admiral Quaranta yacht series has sold. The Italian Sea Group is not disclosing details on the owner or the delivery date. Read on for our original article.
The Italian Sea Group’s Admiral brand is introducing another semi-custom series, with a design studio that comes as a surprise. The Admiral Quaranta yacht features styling by The A Group, the first time the two companies are working together.
Not only that, but The A Group staked is reputation on super-size superyachts for many years. Several of its designs came to fruition at Oceanco, for instance. A 131-footer (40-meter) that’s also a semi-custom model like the Admiral Quaranta is a big change of pace.
However, Giovanni Costantini (below), the founder and CEO of The A Group, says its big-yacht experience is a significant advantage. He explains that the new series “encompasses typical layout and comfort features usually only found on much larger yachts.” For example, six staterooms spread across the decks. Additionally, two of those staterooms are for the owners. One is on the main deck, while the other is on the upper deck, and is further roomier. It has private access from an alfresco, off-center stairway, too, within an outdoor area solely for the owners.
The Admiral Quaranta yacht naturally offers customers input into the interior layout. It’s easy to imagine personalizing the main-deck layout. For now, the build and design teams suggest an open-plan saloon and dining area. The saloon also has a “technologically advanced” game area, which seems to suggest the latest AV connectivity for video games or virtual reality enjoyment. Whatever the choices, three full-height windows on each side will flood the space with sunlight.
Just out the aft-deck doors, meanwhile, the design team has created a full-beam stairway as the project’s signature styling element. It leads to a swim platform that extends out to triple its depth. This, too, according to The Italian Sea Group, is an idea borrowed from bigger yachts.
With contemporary curves combining with linear looks for the profile, the all-aluminum Admiral Quaranta holds sporty appeal. The Italian Sea Group anticipates the series attracting the growing number of younger, more active cruisers. It also anticipates many of them will want to offer the yacht for charter in the Med and the Caribbean.
