She isn’t a new model, and not an entirely new yacht per se, either. But, the ISA Sport 120 just signed is the first new contract for ISA Yachts since Palumbo Group acquired the yard a few months ago.
The ISA Sport 120 series dates back about a decade. Hull number one, for example, launched in 2008. The megayacht starting construction soon marks hull number 11. The LOA is just shy of 120 feet (36.45 meters), with a beam of 24 feet (7.4 meters).
The styling of the all-fiberglass megayacht remains the same. The series emphasizes open-air living and sporty flair. Palumbo Group’s CEO, Giuseppe Palumbo, says there was no need to change the looks, due to them still being popular.
Palumbo Group has not revealed information on the interior design. It seems, however, that the general arrangement remains the same as before. In that case, the new ISA Sport 120 accommodates 10 people in the owner’s party. Five crew and the captain get three cabins.
There is also no word yet on the expected performance. But, it seems likely that Palumbo Group has preserved the engineering package. In that case, the ISA Sport 120 should stay true to her “Sport” moniker. Top speed should be 28 knots, thanks to triple Caterpillar engines. Cruise speed comes at a good clip, too: 22 knots. Range should be 550 nautical miles at that same cruise speed. If that number seems low, keep in mind that the ISA Sport 120 is meant for shorter-range travel versus ocean crossings.
