Pledging a top speed around 34 knots while preserving your ability to cover several hundred miles at still-swift speeds, the Pershing GTX80 yacht is the latest sport boat from the brand renowned for fast, sun-chasing fun.
Joining a series that includes the Pershing GTX116 yacht, the GTX80 reflects the range’s hallmark curves and indoor-outdoor living. She therefore has two decks, with a sporty (optional) hardtop over the upper deck. She also has a nearly vertical bow and rounded profile lines leading your eyes aft.
Some notable differences, however, give the Pershing GTX80 yacht her own personality. The aft bulwarks fold down for more usable space, inviting owners and guests to slip into the water. The swim platform, meanwhile, can adjust to three positions. First, of course, is the traditional setting, for swimming or watertoy boarding. Next, it can raise to connect to the folded-down bulwarks, creating even more welcoming space. Lastly, it can be a launching platform for the toys.
Additionally, the design team decided to make the top deck among the largest in this size range. (The megayacht is 79 feet LOA, or 23.98 meters.) In fact, Pershing says it’s 60 percent bigger than average, about 247 square feet (23 square meters).
With four staterooms, the interior of the Pershing GTX80 yacht intends to remind you you’re at sea. Simultaneously, there’s more visual connection to alfresco areas. The windows flanking the saloon, for example, extend below the side decks. The saloon itself is full beam to one side, too. Equally notable, the galley is more like a bar, plus sits directly at the aft-deck entry. LEDs overhead on the aft deck, along with metallic silver ceiling panels from there through the interior, create visual continuity. Even the décor colors, such as sky-blue leather in the master suite and staterooms, echo the outside. And, because this is a Pershing, the GTX80 further incorporates metallic lacquered wall panels in the en suite baths.
Whether you take the wheel or have professional crew, two helm stations are aboard. One is inside, while the other is on the upper deck. Again, because this is a Pershing, the interior helm has a sliding sunroof, for a sense of the outdoors.
Hull number one is already under construction. Pershing hasn’t yet revealed the launch or delivery date, though.
