The owner of an FD75 delivered from Horizon Yachts in 2021 is looking forward to replicating that project’s crowd-pleasing cruising success. It takes the form of a newly launched Horizon FD108, bearing the same name as the FD75, the yacht Ocean Lily.
Due to her size, the new Ocean Lily can host even larger groups of family and friends. Dining or meetings for up to 14 will take place on the aft upper deck, for instance. For mealtimes, a teppanyaki grill is in proximity, as is a variety of other full-scale cooking equipment. Meetings or meals can transition to major fun inside the skylounge (below), which is no ordinary lounge. In fact, it has a special room unto itself for formal karaoke TV parties—complete with an 85-inch TV and high-end karaoke sound system. The lounge, meanwhile, has classically Chinese décor elements.
The new superyacht has some of the same amenities as other Horizon deliveries. Even though the yard calls her a Horizon FD108 yacht, she’s hull number 10 in the trideck FD110 series. So, Ocean Lily has four guest staterooms below decks (each named for an artist). They’re a combination of queens and bunks, too. She further has the master suite, dining area, galley, and saloon all on the main deck.
How the owner arranged rooms, though, makes the difference. For example, a gym accompanies the guest staterooms. A rounded seating arrangement in the saloon creates a cozier feel for the groups coming aboard. It simultaneously affords everyone a view out Ocean Lily’s full-height windows and of the extraordinary art collection. (See the photo at top.) Formal dining for 10 is truly formal, with black-mirrored walls and a Louis Vuitton steamer trunk as prominent art. Wall-mounted Bang & Olufsen speakers blend with the black mirrors, ensuring entertainment never wanes.
Entertainment doesn’t wane at anchor, either. Ocean Lily carries quite an assortment of watertoys and accessories. They include a Williams Jet Tender, Sea-Doo PWCs, a Flitescooter, a SeaBob, and dive gear. The Horizon FD108 yacht has an elongated swim platform, where the tender and PWCs stow. Everything else goes into the lazarette, just off the crew area. Yet another important feature in the lazarette is a dedicated freezer room.
