A touch-and-go helipad on the upper deck is among the features of a new contract starting construction soon at CRN. The CRN yacht Project 146, her hull number, is a fully custom 220-footer (67-meter).
The steel and aluminum megayacht has an air of elegance to her, the result of the design work of Nuvolari Lenard. Besides styling, the Italian design studio is also handling the interior design. Amid her multiple decks are a dive center, several alfresco entertainment and dining areas, and of course a big beach club. Naturally, too, the owners plan to have several watertoys available for themselves and their guests.
Although few details overall are available, the CRN yacht Project 146 does have some notable technical features. Firstly, she will rely on hybrid propulsion. Secondly, a heat-recovery system will provide hot water for bathing, plus appropriately warm water for washing the decks and filling the pool and hot tubs. The system will use the so-called waste heat from the gensets, meaning the heat that the mechanical systems give off in the course of regular operations. Heat-recovery systems help lessen fuel consumption and genset reliance.
Despite no other information available at this point, it’s interesting to note that the CRN yacht Project 146 is the 10th time that the shipyard and Nuvolari Lenard have teamed up. The studio partners have created both exterior styling and interiors for CRN megayachts dating back to 2001. Specifically, that very first project was Magnifica, a 141-footer (43-meter). More recently, meanwhile, the 197-foot (60-meter) Comfortably Numb resulted from their collaboration. So, too, did Njoy, just delivered last year. Her LOA: 236 feet (72 meters).
Moran Yacht & Ship is representing the owners. In fact, it devised the technical specifications and will serve as the project-management team during construction. This isn’t the first time the company is collaborating with CRN, either. It currently has Project Maranello (above), a.k.a. CRN Project 143, nearing completion at the shipyard. The studio responsible for her styling and interior design just so happens to be Nuvolari Lenard.
