Megayacht News is pleased to announce that founder and editor Diane M. Byrne (left in photo) will serve as the moderator for the International Superyacht Society’s (ISS) annual membership meeting and breakfast. The topic is “Social Media and the Superyacht: What You Should Know.”
Being held October 26 in Fort Lauderdale, just prior to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the ISS gathering is open to ISS members and non-members alike, with non-members to pay a $25 fee (which can be applied toward membership dues). The social-media panel discussion will cover topics like which tools (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) to employ, and how to determine whether megayacht owners, captains, and other key individuals are using them. It will also cover how best to communicate via social media, and the equally important topic of tackling damage control via social media, especially if problems result from its use.
Panelists for the ISS breakfast discussion will include megayacht-industry members and social-media consultants:
* Sarah Bensimon, marketing and sales manager for IGY Marinas
* Kathy Kennedy, marketing director for Derecktor Shipyards
* Julie Perry, vice president of social media for BLASTMedia, a public relations and social media marketing firm; yachting-industry representatives and owners alike may remember her as the host of TheBoaters.tv video blog and author of The Insider’s Guide to Becoming a Yacht Stewardess
To register for the event, visit the ISS website.
