After 18 years of overseeing one of the most successful yacht shows worldwide – arguably the most successful superyacht show – Luc Pettavino has decided to step down from the Monaco Yacht Show.
In a statement posted on the show’s website, Pettavino says, “After giving this a great deal of thought, and discussing it at length with my family, I am determined to dedicate more time to my various non-profit initiatives, mainly related to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I thank you all for this unique experience. It has been a real privilege and honour to build this event into the world premier yacht show that it has become. It was also a great responsibility, as it is associated with very high expectations. Needless to say, I was never alone in this endeavour. The gifted team of people that make it all happen and share the values; research of excellence, consistent commitment, availability, corporate social responsibility, creativity, etc. remains in place: Gaëlle Tallarida who takes over as Managing Director, assisted by Audrey Baylac, Eva Esteban, Aurelia Ferraris, Federica Ficarra, Eva Munoz, Oriane Odasso, Johan Pizzardini and all our loyal suppliers.”
This does not affect the upcoming 20th edition of the Monaco Yacht Show, which will be held September 22 to 25. Informa continues to own the show, and the team referenced by Pettavino continues to coordinate efforts.
The show will also continue to donate 50 percent of the entrance fees to benefit Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, as it has done for the past few years.
