Polignano a Mare, Italy is a popular vacation spot come summertime. And no wonder: The hilltop Puglian town looks out over clear-blue seas and has numerous natural caves along its shoreline that boaters love exploring. Come next summer, Polignano a Mare will also have a new marina capable of hosting boats, yachts, and megayachts to 82 feet (25 meters). Cala Ponte Marina is its name, and it’s part of the Camper & Nicholsons Marinasnetwork.
With 320 berths, Cala Ponte Marina will also have a hotel and eventually bars and restaurants. Shops may also be in the works. The marina basin is still under construction, and negotiations are continuing between the developer, Fimco, and potential tenants. (Based in the Puglia region, Fimco has experience in the tourism and real estate sectors.) Regardless, the marina will have on-site fueling and the other amenities megayachts have come to expect of Camper & Nicholsons Marinas projects.
Cala Ponte Marina will be convenient for megayacht owners and guests who wish to fly into the area, as well as those who want to venture to other areas that megayachts visit. The Bari International Airport is 40 kilometers away, for example. The Adriatic Sea is at its doorstep, and the Ionian Sea lies south and east. Therefore Croatia and Greece’s famed Ionian Islands are reachable within a day or so, depending on your yacht’s performance.
