Due to the recession’s effects on the yachting industry, and to better focus its varied businesses, the Azimut Benetti Group has restructured into three main divisions.
All Azimut and Benetti boats and services will now fall under Yachts, Megayachts, and Yachtique. The Yachts division groups together all production boats and yachts to 30 meters (98 feet). Megayachts brings together everything larger than that. As for Yachtique, it will continue to offer financing, crew placement, and other services it’s presented since its founding in 2008. Related to this, Fraser Yachts, which the Azimut Benetti Group acquired in 2004, also falls under Yachtique.
The reorganization has the biggest impact on Azimut. It makes for a distinct separation between production boats and megayachts. For many years, the two have been mixed among five model lines: Flybridge, S Range, Leonardo, Magellano, and Grande. Now, megayacht construction will be managed internally much the way the entire Benetti lineup is. Furthermore, the Azimut Grande models from 100 to 126 feet LOA, specifically targeted to the American market, will offer owners more customization. (The Azimut Grande 105 is pictured here.)
The Azimut Benetti Group has already begun marketing the new divisions to the public. The introduction came with the annual Yacht & Brokerage Show last month in Miami.
