Most yacht launches involve a bottle of champagne. At Nobiskrug, it involves a hearty bowl of soup.
The craftsmen – both employees of the yard and subcontractors – who worked on superyacht hull number 783 were invited to this dining experience last Tuesday, just prior to the superyacht’s launch. (Hopefully the owners and the mayor of Rendsburg, the German town where the yard is situated, were also invited, as they were additionally on hand.)
While this wasn’t the formal launch and christening ceremony, it was a significant moment, as it marked the completion of the structural build. Hull number 783 is remaining dockside at Nobiskrug for a few days, then being moved back into a covered shed on land for the interior assembly and exterior painting. Delivery will take place next year.
The 74-meter motoryacht bears styling and interior design by Reymond Langton Design. While the yard has not revealed the name, the project management team refers to her as Graffiti.
