With international boat shows back on the schedule, yacht buyers and builders once again have in-water rendezvous on their calendars. From September 9 to 12, the Cannes Yachting Festival returns as the first large-yacht showcase of the fall. Specifically, the event will include nearly 600 boats and yachts, 430 exhibitors, and more than 140 debuts, equating 10 percent more than in 2019. (Rising cases of COVID-19 last August forced Cannes Yachting Festival organizers to cancel.) If you plan to attend, here are several megayachts to add to your Cannes Yachting Festival visit list.
1. Azimut Grande Trideck. Making her global premiere, the flagship of the Azimut Grande series is a 125-foot (38-meter) semi-custom model. She includes a dedicated beach club and a full-beam upper deck, for example, which can further accommodate a sixth stateroom. The distinguishing feature, however, is the Sea View Terrace, a mezzanine-like area up and aft from the main aft deck. It lends the illusion of being a fourth deck level.
2. Benetti Oasis 40M. Fittingly, Benetti first publicly announced plans for the Oasis 40M at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2018. Since that time, more than a dozen hulls have sold. The first delivery, Rebeca (above), makes her international show premiere at this year’s Festival. Visitors will especially enjoy the extra alfresco space.
3. Extra Yachts X96 Triplex. Nearly 94 feet (28.6 meters) LOA, this trideck megayacht pushes the main-deck master suite out to the full beam. Furthermore, she affords voluminous interior areas overall, plus uninterrupted views of cruising grounds from a high, broad bow sunpad/seating area and cozy flying bridge.
4. Ferretti Yachts 1000. Boasting a louvered hardtop, the Ferretti Yachts 1000 is the largest yacht in the Ferretti Yachts’ flying-bridge lineup. Moreover, put her on your Cannes Yachting Festival visit list to experience her 24-knot top speed and one of two decor packages available.
5. ISA Super Sportivo 100 GTO Aldabra. If you crave speed, schedule a sea trial aboard this triple-engine megayacht (above), capable of a top end of 50 knots. Further noteworthy, while she appears to have an enclosed main deck, sliding glass actually panels open up the hardtop.
6. Rosetti Superyachts 38m EXP. Launched in June (above), this steel-and-aluminum cruiser belongs to a couple who plan global travels. The 38m EXP should have a 5,000-nautical-mile range at 10 knots. Additionally, she has about 7,535 square feet (700 square meters) of usable areas, essentially evenly divided between alfresco and interior space.
7. Sunseeker 90 Ocean. The Sunseeker 90 Ocean sports styling that the British builder will roll out across a number of models to come. Clever space utilization is a hallmark, too, with what Sunseeker says is four times the typical amount at the waterline alone.
8. Wally Yachts WHY200. This 89-footer (27-meter) maximizes volume and makes more use of deck space, too. As a result, Wally claims you get 50 percent more living area aboard the WHY200 than similar-size motoryachts do. Don’t miss the full-beam, 398-square-foot (37-square-meter) master suite on the main deck.
