As passionate about diving as they are showing the wonders of Tahiti and the South Pacific to guests, Rodolphe and Christelle Holler are the owners and co-founders of Tahiti Private Expeditions. They established the company in the mid-2000s to provide a personally guided experience both above and below the water. Fifteen years later, Tahiti Private Expeditions has undertaken 360-plus superyacht expeditions over more than 6,000 days at sea. Additionally, it’s shot hundreds of films for clients and for the world to see.
While dive trips are a big draw, the company provides overall guiding services. The local knowledge of the Hollers and their team makes a significant difference. It’s especially important, in fact, in remote regions like the islands in the South Pacific. Their familiarity means they can recommend reefs and other spots for snorkeling and diving, regardless of someone’s level of experience. It further means that guests can make more discoveries during shore excursions.
Arguably some of the greatest discoveries, though, are the natural wonders of the local waters. The Hollers actually worked on scientific projects with marine biologists nearly 20 years ago. Because the team follows proper operational procedures, the company has a government permit to explore certain sanctuary areas for whales. When situations and conditions allow, guests can even get into the water for up-close encounters with them—as well as sharks. Notably, French Polynesia has been a marine sanctuary for whales, as well as dolphins, since 2002. Additionally, French Polynesia was the first globally to protect the sharks frequenting its waters, in 2007.
The list of superyachts that have turned to Tahiti Private Expeditions reads like a who’s who of yachting. For instance, the motoryachts Callisto, Dragonfly, Endless Summer, Hanse Explorer, Seven Seas, and Senses are among them. Sailing yachts are clients, too. Fidelis, Hemisphere, Kokomo, Silvertip, and Twizzle have benefitted from the team’s expertise.
This video is particularly special for Tahiti Private Expeditions. It’s in memory of Rodolphe Holler’s father, a source of inspiration and the person who introduced him to diving.
