If the model upon which she’s based is any indication, the new Swan 80 yacht will meet sailing enthusiasts’ expectations to a T.
Nautor Swan is confident of this for a few reasons. Firstly, the series is the direct successor to the Swan 78. Ten deliveries resulted from that series, none of which underwent customer-requested changes in configuration. Secondly, LOA is 79 feet (23.99 meters), therefore subject to different regulations than larger sailing superyachts. Additionally, like the Swan 78, plus subsequent designs like the new Swan 108, German Frers is responsible for the initial concept and naval architecture. Also similarly, Lucio Micheletti is the stylist, while Misa Poggi is the interior designer. Notably, the Swan 108 hull design and deck style reappear on the Swan 80, too, since this will be the Swan Maxi look for the next several years.
This “mini maxi,” as Nautor Swan calls her, has several practical and comfort-oriented features. For instance, the crew will appreciate how the wood-clad cockpit coamings extend farther aft. The deck overall remains clean and uncluttered, too, for ease of movement. Winches are logically around the twin helms, with a center console possible for the mainsheet winch. For you and your guests, meanwhile, the aft cockpit accommodates whatever seating arrangement, other furniture, or even on-deck stowage you wish. Furthermore, and particularly because so many Nautor Swan clients love regattas, the Swan 80 yacht allows removing all deck furnishings if you go racing.
If you’re more inclined to cruise, though, the Swan 80 yacht offers a few possibilities. Sunpads can sit aft, in proximity to the swim platform and full-beam lazarette. The lowered transom becomes a big beach area on demand as well. You can also stow a RIB or other small tender back aft. Inside, arrange the saloon, dining area, and staterooms as you see fit. Up to four guest staterooms can accompany your full-beam suite, for example. Or, have one guest stateroom double as a TV room, even an extra crew cabin.
Of course, bluewater performance is crucial for Swan customers, so the Swan 80 yacht follows suit. Twin rudders are aboard, with sacrificial tips and stocks in sealed compartments should you strike a submerged object. Choose between a fixed and telescopic keel. Furthermore, the fixed keel can be either deep or shallow.
Finally, customers can choose among a few hull colors, like the blue, grey, and white shown.
