For years, superyacht owners and crew have been using FunAir’s assortment of inflatable watertoys like slides and pools. Notably, the team regularly fields requests for recommendations for other reputable toys. So, why not put together a formal list of referrals based on its staff’s and its customers’ experiences? Better yet, that list is the new FunAir More Fun website section.
Firstly, FunAir points out that it is not a sales agent for any of the brands. Neither is it receiving a commission from including their images or information about their waterbikes, surfboards, and more. Each toy in the section—currently nine—links to the original manufacturer’s website for purchasing. Similarly, no markups are on the prices. “We’re looking forward to sharing some of our favorite products and toys,” explains John Courtney, FunAir’s managing director. The hand-picked products are ones which his team believes owners and guests will love, and which they and their crew will appreciate quality-wise. “Our whole ethos is to make every yacht as entertaining as possible, while keeping things simple and efficient for the crew,” Courtney says.
For instance, the team chose Belassi watercraft. While they may look like typical PWCs, Belassi’s products can be customized. Additionally, rigorous testing protocols provide peace of mind. Yet another recommendation is Fliteboard (above), the electric foiling board. Many megayachts already carry it in their toy box, in fact. Similarly, many yachts have Scubapro dive gear (top). A “for divers, by divers” company, Scubapro masks, fins, regulators, and other equipment suits novices and experts alike.
For guests who thrill to more excitement, of course, the FunAir More Fun section has suggestions. One, for example, is MasterCraft’s line of powerboats. They’re especially popular for taking guests waterskiing, although they suit day tripping, too. Owners and guests who want to get their hearts pumping will like Schiller water bikes (below). The California-based company says people of all abilities can use its bikes, safely.
Finally, if a leisurely hour or so on the water is the choice, a Tiwal sailing dinghy (below) is a possibility. Crew and owners of yachts on the smaller side particularly appreciate that it’s lightweight and packs away into just two bags.
Besides these toys, the FunAir More Fun section contains a service recommendation. It’s for crew to use YotSpot, a globally reaching maritime jobs board. Thousands of openings, ranging from permanent to rotational and seasonal, are listed. They’re further for every role onboard. Simultaneously, crew can post a video about themselves and their skills on YotSpot if they’re seeking work.
Expect to see more watertoys appear in the More Fun section in the coming months. FunAir’s staff plans to reach out regularly to more brands. Simultaneously, the team welcomes recommendations from customers.
