If you can’t make it to your yacht, have your yacht make it to your living room—or dining room, or elsewhere at your house. Carla Guilhem, an award-winning yacht interior designer, has designed several indoor and outdoor furnishings to bring a little slice of the seagoing life to land.
The furnishings are all part of the Essenza Collection. Each hand-crafted table, chair, and sofa comes from the manufacturing facilities of Artefacto, a Brazilian luxury-furnishings company. The lines of the collection are clean and crisp, and each item is as practical as it is beautiful.
Learn more about the Carla Guilhem Essenza Collection in the January edition of the Megayacht News newsletter. Sent on a subscriber-only basis to more than 1,500 people, it contains information that we don’t feature here on our daily updated website. So, for instance, this month we tell you about ocean conservation efforts by the Pelorus Foundation, the non-profit arm of the adventure company Pelorus. In fact, the organization is making a difference off the coast of Kenya, where overfishing has endangered the reef ecosystem and the local population.
We also tell you about the successful efforts by the crew of the yacht Alfa Nero to secure long-overdue back pay. More than a dozen crewmembers and the captain went without wages for months dating back to the yacht’s abandonment in 2022.
Finally, we update you about Gulf Craft’s efforts to explore hydrogen-powered megayachts. It’s partnered with a company experienced in producing, storing, and transporting it—in ways different than other shipyards plan.
