You’ll have to look carefully at the trailer for the movie Argylle, but you’ll spot the Williams Jet Tenders SportJet 520 RIB that plays a role in the film. The movie, hitting American theaters on February 2, might already be the talk of your household, too. That is, if you have a Swiftie under your roof.
Argylle is an action-comedy film based on a novel by the same name. Both are about a spy novelist whose fictional works turn out to be real. She finds herself and her traveling companion, a Scottish Fold cat, in an international plot with assassins, spies, and more. She carries him around in an argyle-print cat backpack (hence the movie name). Here’s where the Swifties have gotten the rumor mill churning. Taylor Swift has two Scottish Folds, and used a cat backpack in the documentary Miss Americana. Naturally, her fans assumed she wrote the novel. However, the filmmaker says the rumors aren’t true—although he admits his family’s cat, in the film, was a Swift inspiration.
Regardless, amid all the action in the movie Argylle, a chase takes place along the River Thames in London. The filmmakers used a Williams Jet Tenders SportJet 520 RIB. Although it’s under cover in the official trailer below, it bears carbon-black tubes.
Williams Jet Tenders—whose Williams Tenders USA recently joined MarineMax—makes the SportJet 520 RIB primarily for megayachts. Specifically, the company has 98-foot-plus (30-meter-plus) yachts in mind. It seats seven people, including the driver. Becase of its top speed of 52 mph, adrenaline junkies are particularly the target buyers. It certainly suits the action-packed film scene.
Although American audiences need to wait until February to see the film, British moviegoers can catch it earlier. The UK premiere is January 24, in London’s Leicester Square.
“We are thrilled about Argylle and the debut of our SportJet on the big screen in such an exciting new film,” says Tom Dowdell, head of marketing. “We can hardly wait to witness the cinematic spectacle.”
