It wasn’t that long ago that spec yachts were “safe,” meaning shipyards didn’t go to extraordinary means in their design or construction. Doing things different was risky, most felt. That’s no longer the case, especially with yacht buyers seeking fresh features. Baglietto seems to have kept that in mind with hull number 10228, a.k.a. a Baglietto 48M. While largely based on a same-size custom project, she introduces a few additional elements of her own.
The 157-footer is part of Baglietto’s T-Line, a series which echoes the looks of launches of the shipyard’s past. Francesco Paszkowski Design, the stylist of the series, remained faithful to the builder’s classic lines. Simultaneously, the studio introduced more contemporary looks, such as a raked windshield. More so, though, the Baglietto 48M is a sistership to Andiamo, delivered last year. She therefore shares the same LOA and 31-foot (9.5-meter) beam.
The differences between the two come in aesthetics and creature comforts. For instance, Francesco Paszkowski Design graced the Baglietto 48M with somewhat larger ports. In addition, Baglietto’s own interior-design department coaxed more usable space out of the interior. It starts with one place owners and guests love to spend time, the beach club. Instead of having watertoys stow aft below decks, the Baglietto 48M keeps them forward, on the foredeck. Now, 506 square feet (47 square meters) is for pure pleasure: relaxing waterside, enjoying cocktails, you name it. Since the megayacht is for sale, you can outfit it as you please.
Overall, the Baglietto 48M has nearly 3,770 square feet (350 square meters) for lounging, entertaining, and more. To create a warm, welcoming atmosphere, the interior-design team selected Italian walnut for paneling, paired primarily with Canaletto walnut soles. Guest staterooms put carpeting underfoot. Regardless, more visual interest comes in the form of bold and bronze accents in common areas. Furthermore, the guest staterooms show off cream-tone leather with inlaid wood in varying shapes on the walls.
Sea trials should soon confirm a cruising speed of 12 knots, thanks to twin Caterpillar diesels. The Baglietto 48M should see about a 4,500-nautical-mile range at that speed as well.
You can get aboard the Baglietto 48M at the Cannes Yachting Festival and Monaco Yacht Show next month. The megayacht should then come stateside for the Fort Lauderdale show.
We’ll have a Megayacht News Onboard feature in the coming weeks with more details, too.
