Months after initially revealing it had a new series in development, Ferretti Yachts says hull number one is set to debut this year. The first Ferretti Yachts InFYnito 90 will reveal a greater emphasis on owners who treat their yachts “as an extension of their homes,” in the design team’s words.
Ferretti Yachts provided a sneak peek at the InFYnito series last summer, complementing its longstanding Flybridge series. It offers LOAs from 70 to 100 feet (about 21.3 to 30.5 meters). The series is so-named because “FY” stands for “Ferretti Yachts.” Along those same lines, the play on “infinite” with “InFYnito” is deliberate. The Ferretti Yachts InFYnito 90 has more alfresco space and glass, for limitless views and the sense of no boundaries.
As is customary, the Ferretti Group’s own Strategic Product Committee and Engineering Department joined forces for naval architecture. Styling and hull design comes from Filippo Salvetti, with interiors by Ideaeitalia. Although the build and design teams drew inspiration from explorer vessels, they say the idea really is more a home at sea to indulge in long-range, more luxurious comfort.
With an LOA of 88 feet (26.97 meters), the Ferretti Yachts InFYnito 90 bears a beam of 24 feet (7.33 meters). She further boasts more than 1,076 square feet (100 square meters) of alfresco relaxation areas. This, the shipyard says, is nearly 50 percent more than most megayachts in this size range. It includes the sheltered foredeck (below), a.k.a. “all season terrace.” Skylights and open sides keep it light and airy, yet it affords privacy dockside. Additionally, the yacht has more than 1,507 square feet (140 square meters) of interior living areas. This, too, is more than the average, Ferretti Yachts says. Specifically, it claims it’s 25 percent greater.
From the guest staterooms to the skylounge, owners can choose among different deck layouts. Different moods are available as well, from casual open plans to more formal separation. Recycled and recyclable woods, fabrics, and finishes are priorities as well. Salvetti stresses that regardless of choice, “the new paradigm embraces enhanced lighting, elimination of barriers, and the creation of new diaphragm spaces between interior and exterior, ambiences that are open but sheltered and intimate.”
“The Ferretti Yachts InFYnito range addresses a segment that needed new concepts,” according to Davide Bernardini and Alessio Battistini, co-founders of Ideaeitalia. “The chief aim of the interior-design process was to heighten the perception of space.” They add that they kept in mind “owners who are increasingly seeing their yacht as a new place to live in, as an extension of their homes.”
Finally, Ferretti Yachts InFYnito 90 is the first to incorporate an assortment of environmental-minded technical solutions. For instance, under the name F.S.E.A. technology (Ferretti Sustainable Enhanced Architecture), they include a solar roof to feed the hotel load’s battery supply. Therefore, air conditioning, lighting, and more can operate with zero emissions. In combination with a fast-displacement hull, even less fuel consumption results compared to traditional design and power approaches.
