Two well-known superyacht service and refit shipyards in South Florida are now one. Bradford Marine has purchased Roscioli Yachting Center, which conveniently is adjacent to its site.
Roscioli Yachting Center dates back to 1968. The late Bob Roscioli, who died in 2020, set up his own shop in his 20s after learning strong skills. The eponymous shipyard earned renown for servicing some of the biggest private yachts in the world. In 2021, the recreational boating retailer OneWater Marine acquired the shipyard plus the rights to the in-water slips. It kept the name, of course, due to the earned good will. Bradford Marine closed a deal with OneWater to take over the property and service operations effective October 1.
OneWater will continue to have a sales presence on site. Additionally, Bradford Marine’s team will provide service and support for OneWater’s customers. The company is the American sales representative for Sunseeker, for instance.
“This marks an incredibly important milestone for our growth as we bring together two esteemed full-service marinas, each with a rich history,” says John Kelly, Bradford Marine’s CEO (above left). “By combining our teams’ extensive experience, we will continue to improve the yachting experience for our customers while striving to make yacht ownership easy and enjoyable.” Specifically, 40 Roscioli employees are now Bradford employees, bringing Bradford’s head count to 260.
Among other things, the acquisition broadens Bradford Marine’s lift capacity, dockage, and covered storage for yachts in water and on land. Roscioli has a 320-ton lift, for example. Therefore, Bradford Marine can now address the needs of superyachts to 150 feet (46 meters). As for dockage, a further 5,000 feet (1,524 meters) of covered space brings its total to upwards of 19,000 linear feet (5,791 linear meters). Superyachts to 180 feet (55 meters) can fit in the slips, too. Altogether, it’s the most in-water dockage in South Florida.
Michael Kelly, Bradford Marine’s president and COO (above right), notes that the company recently acquired Billfish Marina, Pipewelders Marine, and other marine companies as well. “We’re excited to celebrate our expansion with our Braford family of customers and the marine community at the upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show,” he adds.
