Moonen Yachts is keeping its longtime focus on the smaller end of the megayacht scale with its newest model, the Moonen 110. She blends the benefits of a more intimate size with the characteristics that have made previous models a success.
Specifically, the shipyard, Diana Yacht Design, and René van der Velden Yacht Design leveraged a number of the factors behind the Moonen 84 and the Moonen 97. Each of these two series saw hull after hull launch between 2000 and 2011. They earned reputations for good seakeeping, as well as traditional, timeless style, simultaneously being what Moonen calls “pocket-size superyachts.”
Similarly, the Moonen 110, coming in at 111’1” (33.87 meters), is a pocket-size superyacht. Additionally, she fulfills what the shipyard and design teams see as continued desire for projects with a comfortable scale, yet also capable of venturing around the world. In fact, they see strong possibilities among cruisers who enjoy the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and the Great Barrier Reef. A healthy expected range of 3,300 nautical miles at 9 knots, under Caterpillar power, should make these and other voyages possible. (Top speed should be 13 knots.)
She features accommodations for eight to 10 people in four staterooms, for instance. Naturally, these include a full-beam master, a VIP, and two twin cabins (which can include Pullman berths). With a beam of 24’6” (7.5 meters), the megayacht should look and feel voluminous throughout the decks.
Wherever the yacht voyages, relaxation and entertainment spaces cater to casual or formal parties. A particular highlight: full-height glass to each side of the main-deck dining area. Furthermore, customers may decide to opt for a hot tub on the sundeck. If they don’t, they can keep a tender fully aft. Either way, the lazarette should have space for small toys, too.
Since the Moonen 110 is still at a concept stage, the 256-gross-ton yacht remains available for full personalization throughout her three decks.
