If you’re an avid watcher of the Netflix series The Crown, you’ve already seen this superyacht on the screen a few times. But, did you know that you can charter the yacht Titania and see for yourself where the cast and crew were? Come aboard with us for a look around.
The show (based on the play The Audience, which theater fans may know) chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth II of England. Currently in its sixth and last season, it details a variety of events from the queen’s early days on the throne straight through this decade. The yacht Titania appears in The Crown as the yacht Jonikal, which the late Princess Diana and Dodi al-Fayed famously spent time aboard in 1997. A 209-footer (nearly 64-meter) from Codecasa dating to 1990, Jonikal belonged to Mohammed al-Fayed, who owned Harrods and was Dodi’s father. A now-iconic photo shows Diana sitting on the end of the yacht’s diving board.
Although Titania is larger, at 239 feet (73 meters), it’s no matter for the cameras. The yacht is enjoying her second season on the show, in fact, having appeared in season five of The Crown when it premiered in 2022. She boasts several features that keen charter guests requesting her again and again. For instance, two master suites are aboard. (A VIP suite and four double staterooms bring the total guest capacity to 14, though she can only charter with a maximum of 12.) She has a circular formal dining area as well, rimmed in floor-to-ceiling glass and with a herringbone-patterned wood floor.
Speaking of glass, a glass gym is on an upper deck, providing inspiring views during workouts. You can work out with a trainer as well, since one accompanies guests on charter. Finally, if you prefer pampering, a masseuse and beautician attend to guests wishing to use the spa. The spa further includes a sauna.
Of course, all guests who charter the yacht Titania have an abundance of watertoys like kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, water skis, and an inflatable water park to enjoy. More niceties include a swim-up bar within a hot tub, along with a beach club and great sunning spaces.
You can charter the yacht Titania in the Caribbean and the Bahamas this winter. She’s part of the central agency of Burgess. Her weekly rate is from $615,000 to $715,000. If you prefer summertime travel, you can charter her in the Mediterranean next year, where her weekly rate is from €595,000 to €965,000.
As for what happened to Jonikal, she has passed through the hands of a few successive owners. Currently, her name is Isabell Princess of the Sea, following an eight-figure refit that finished earlier this year. She charters, too. Her weekly rate ranges from €290,000 to €320,000
