Multiple memorable events around the world attract megayachts and their owners. While the first one that comes to mind typically is the Monaco Grand Prix, not everything takes place in Europe. In fact, Independence Day stateside is a significant attraction, too. These are the top American megayacht destinations where several yachts currently are for Fourth of July fireworks and other festivities.
New York City, New York
From North Cove Marina in the World Financial Center area to Chelsea Piers a little farther north, New York is a perennial favorite. After all, there’s nothing quite like the annual Macy’s fireworks display over the East River. Currently, a yacht whose name is sure to put a smile on your face, Don’t Tell Mom, is at North Cove. She’s a Sanlorenzo SD96. Meanwhile, the Amels Sixth Sense and Rossinavi Utopia IV (below) are among those docked at Chelsea Piers.
Sag Harbor, New York
The annual Sag Harbor fireworks show already took place on July 1, but plenty of superyachts have stayed in the area. For instance, the Baglietto yachts Enterprise is there, having departed North Cove marina in Manhattan (as photographed below) a few days prior. Yet another Baglietto, Club M, is enjoying Sag Harbor, as is the Benetti Queen D.
Newport, Rhode Island
Newport is among the most quintessentially American megayacht destinations. Weather permitting, the Fourth of July fireworks display will light up the harbor tonight. The Palmer Johnson Helios 2 is on hand to see them, as are many more private vessels. The Feadship Enterprise V (the ex-Lady May, below), and the Delta MLR, the Trinity Mirabella have great dock spots.
Seattle, Washington
Readers of USA Today voted the fireworks show over Lake Union in Seattle one of the nation’s best. The Feadship expedition superyacht Sherpa will get to enjoy them tonight, as will the classic Delta Marlinda. Nearby, the Christensen Popeye might catch the display, too.
Alaska
Yacht agents who assist superyachts within the United States report that Alaska inquiries were in high demand once again well before January 2023. Presently, the Westport Evviva is in the majestic mountainous setting, as is the classic Deep Sea Marine yachtfisher El Rey. If they stick around Juneau, they can catch the annual July 4 parade downtown. Elsewhere in the state, the Trinity TCB is enjoying some naturally striking scenery.
Miami
While Miami isn’t as popular as Fort Lauderdale further north in Florida, still, the city is growing among American megayacht destinations. The Benetti Vision (ex-Lyana) and Columbus Leudin 1 will be able to catch the fireworks show over the waters of downtown Miami tonight.
Baltimore
Since the 1930-built motoryacht Marie and the Pendennis sailing superyacht Rebecca are in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, they’re in the center of the city’s Independence Day action. All-day events culminate in a 15-minute-long fireworks display over the water. Keep an eye on Charm City, since it’s gaining ground among American megayacht destinations.
