Skiing enthusiasts who book fine homes in areas like Vail and Breckenridge in Colorado are already familiar with Moving Mountains. Twenty-seven years after its founding, the Steamboat Springs company has an Oceans division, with a charter broker to book luxury yacht charters.
Moving Mountains dates to 1997. Currently, it manages and rents 250 luxury residences, including slope-side homes, in the Rocky Mountains. Interestingly, around the same time as they established their company, founders Robin and Heather Craigen took their first yacht charter. They enjoyed the experience so much that helping clients book similar vacations seemed a natural extension of the business. Since its founding, Moving Mountains offers personalized services like provisioning, arranging ground transportation, and planning activities.
Upwards of 70 yachts and megayachts are available through the Oceans division. Some are sub-80 feet, but the overwhelming majority accommodate eight to 12 guests. They’re all available in the U.S. Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands, too. In viewing each yacht on the website, you’ll discover bios for the crew, for example, along with sample menus. You’ll further see the available dates and rates.
Of course, crewed yacht charter is a high-touch experience, involving extraordinary personalization. Therefore, Jeni Osborn is the company’s dedicated charter broker. Osborn spent 15 years as a crewmember aboard a megayacht with her husband, a captain. They settled in Colorado, and she joined the company several years back. Her knowledge of the Caribbean and what yachting guests enjoy means she can personalize itineraries and choose the right crew and yacht for them. “We strive to match guests effortlessly with the perfect vessel and crew, ensuring a dream yacht charter becomes a reality,” Osborn explains.
“We are delighted to come full circle with the launch of our Oceans division,” says Robin Craigen. “Our team works tirelessly to curate extraordinary experiences for our clients, and this expansion will allow us to navigate to new horizons for our loyal owners and guests.”
