Buying and owning a megayacht is much like owning a small business, involving administrative, financial, and legal matters. It’s why owners often form companies to manage them. However, there are complex issues relating to tax obligations and filing compliance, especially when cruising or chartering in Europe. Camper & Nicholsons therefore has partnered with a well-established company experienced in setting up yacht-ownership structures, handling tax, VAT, and more. The new partnership is a service called Camper & Nicholsons Corporate Services.
Based out of Camper & Nicholsons’ existing Monaco office, the division taps the four decades of experience of Fiduchi Group. The company got its start in 1978 as Jersey Yacht Management, on the island of Jersey. Just as it has independently, Fiduchi Group as part of Camper & Nicholsons Corporate Services will work one-on-one with yacht owners to determine the right ownership corporate structure. Additionally, it can handle yacht registration, along with crew employment and payroll. Furthermore, due to its legal and financial knowledge, the Group can advise superyacht owners on taxation issues.
Vincent McCartney of Fiduchi Group will head the division as its managing director. McCartney has two decades’ experience with corporate-related structures for luxury assets. He’s been particularly focused on establishing corporate entities for yachts since 2008, too. “Camper & Nicholsons Corporate Services enables us to further simplify the complexities of yacht ownership and reinforce our commitment to clients, by providing them with a team of specialists in every aspect of yachting,” he says.
Paolo Cassani, Camper & Nicholsons’ CEO, agrees. He further says, “The addition of Camper & Nicholsons Corporate Services to the portfolio enables us to offer a truly holistic support network, redefining the concept of a ‘full-service yacht company.’”
