More than 400 NFTs from noted megayacht designer Marco Casali are up for sale. The Marco Casali Freedom Collection is the second NFT drop from him in conjunction with Cloud Yachts.
Cloud Yachts lays claim to being the first metaverse-based yacht dealer. It began offering superyacht NFTs this past February. Those NFTs, more than 100 in total, featured designs from renowned studios like Bannenberg & Rowell, Greg Marshall, and more, including Casali. The designs were about as real as you would expect to see, too, unlike the headline-grabbing Metaflower megayacht NFT sale last December.
Casali, who has collaborated with clients on custom yachts from Benetti, ISA Yachts, and more, was intrigued by the possibilities of NFTs. “I consider designing yacht NFTs as a tool to help people experience yachting in the metaverse,” he says. The Marco Casali Freedom Collection dropped last week with 500 NFTs, and still offers many choices. Each depicts different versions of a 143-footer (43.5-meter) amid destinations, denizens of the deep, and more. “The concept for this design combines owning a yacht with other passions such as fishing or spending time with family,” Casali adds. “To me, this is freedom.”
Buyers of the Marco Casali Freedom Collection need not stop with digital art, however. They can request a 3D version to “cruise” and use in the metaverse, for instance. Additionally, Cloud Yachts invites all buyers of its NFTs to enjoy exclusive experiences. These include superyacht parties, for instance, as well as entry to yacht shows and similar events. Furthermore, “This boat is also listed for sale and can be built as a new-construction project in real life,” Casali explains. It wouldn’t be the first time, either. In fact, Greg Marshall leveraged his experience in February to seal a yacht-construction deal with Cloud Yachts.
The Marco Casali Freedom Collection NFTs start at 0.05 Etherum apiece.
