With upwards of 1,300 boats, yachts, and superyachts on display, FLIBS (a.k.a. the annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show) remains the world’s largest in-water boat show. With that many vessels alone, plus hundreds of further exhibitors across seven locations, it’s enormous. Thankfully, superyachts and superyacht exhibitors primarily are at the Bahia Mar displays and the Superyacht Village area at Pier 66. If you’re going—the show is October 25 to 29—these are the newly launched FLIBS superyachts to put on your list.
Crowned Eagle, by Horizon Yachts
Repeat business is the best business. Previous Horizon Yachts owners stepped up to this Horizon FD110. The trideck has a lot of custom features, such as two helm stations and large relaxation and entertaining areas (below). The shipyard even custom designed and custom made something as a surprise for the owners. Specifically, it’s an etched-glass depiction of a feather, in the guest foyer below decks.
Majesty 111, by Majesty Yachts
Following her global debut at the just-concluded Monaco Yacht Show, the Majesty 111 is making her American debut. The builder collaborated with the Dutch design studio Phathom to ensure a higher level of luxury, and it has succeeded. Featuring two and a half decks, the megayacht also has six staterooms, a rarity in this size range.
Ocean 182, by Sunseeker
Most of the semi-custom FLIBS superyachts bear names that incorporate their LOAs. Sunseeker did something different with the Ocean 182 (below), instead choosing her volume (182 gross tons, specifically). It believes clients are more aware that volume, not necessarily length, determines a comfortable experience. If you step aboard, the shipyard has created a floating penthouse, compete with sliding-glass doors to one side of the saloon. She’s further unique among Sunseekers, with just one helm, on the upper deck.
80 Sunreef Eco Power, by Sunreef Yachts
Part of the Sunreef Eco Yachts range of power and sailing craft, the 80 Sunreef Eco Power is a catamaran (below). Electric engines and battery banks provide propulsion. Solar panels within the hull sides—a development from within Sunreef Yachts, too—replace gensets. They’re lightweight as well. In fact, the shipyard says the total amount of solar panels weighs less than just one typical 20-kW genset you’d traditionally find on a yacht like her.
Ubiquitous, by Benetti Yachts
FLIBS superyachts on display include this American premiere from the well-known Italian shipyard Benetti. Ubiquitous is part of the Oasis 34M series with the incredibly popular Oasis Deck (top). The Oasis Deck incorporates opening wings at the transom and an infinity pool in the deck. Inside, meanwhile, the owners of the 112-foot (34-meter) Ubiquitous worked with the New York-based firm Bonetti & Kozerski for a sophisticated feel.
For an elevated experience, consider getting ticket to the Windward VIP Club. At Bahia Mar, it has air-conditioned inside space and seating outside, too. Gourmet food, a premium open bar with tastings, and other benefits come with it. In fact, you get early access to the show an hour before gates officially open. LaVictoire Finance is also on hand to discuss your yacht-financing needs. Yet another option, purchase the Windward VIP Club and Fort Lauderdale Concourse bundle. The Concours combines an after-hours classic-cars exhibit, art exhibit, fashion show, and cocktail party amid the superyachts.
