As much as owners and their representatives look forward each year to the Monaco Yacht Show, another significant event coincides with it. It’s the annual Monaco Superyacht Finance Forum, a must-attend educational event for those of you who advise yacht owners and buyers.
In fact, maritime lawyers, insurers, yacht brokers, marine lenders, and more professionals are all on hand. Several of them are panelists throughout the day, too. The market- and finance-focused agenda traditionally offers actionable business intelligence and the opportunity to meet key people to assist you in your duties.
This year’s event takes place on September 26, the day before the Monaco Yacht Show begins. Among the panel discussions, don’t miss “Yacht Insurance – Pricing Pressures, Reduction of Coverages, Increasing Special Deductibles.” It’s unfortunately of no surprise that yacht insurance has become increasingly challenging. Leading companies have pulled out of the market, for example, while others have remained but slashed coverage. Still others among those that remain have raised coverage costs dramatically.
Yet another panel discussion covers the issue of EU Returned Goods Relief. Briefly, there may be good news for owners and managers of non-EU-flagged superyachts. And, finally, you’ll learn about the latest sustainability advances and opportunities, plus the state of the financing market.
The Monaco Superyacht Finance Forum is presented by Marine Money magazine. This year’s location is the Le Meridien Beach Plaza.
