Every year at boat-show time, the emphasis is primarily on semi-custom and custom yachts making their global debut. The Monaco Yacht Show is no different, with a number of power superyacht premieres and new sailing superyachts to visit. However, the Monaco show, from September 28 to October 1, also will have several significant superyacht brokerage buys you should consider booking appointments to see. These are among them.
11.11
A 207-footer (63-meter) from Benetti, 11.11 (pictured above) has revolved around family, including small children, since delivery day in 2015. The owners strike a strong balance between grown-up appeal, especially high design, and child-friendly surfaces (no sharp angles). If you’re also an art lover, you’ll appreciate the incredible, eclectic collection onboard, with pieces from Helmut Newton and more. Fun fact: The unusual name is the birthday of one of the owners’ children.
BLUSH
Among the reasons to consider Blush among your superyacht brokerage buys: She’s the second delivery in Perini Navi’s 45-meter series. Back then, her name was Helios, belonging to an experienced sailor who offered her quite successfully for charter for years. Currently, Blush, with accommodations for 10, belongs to former British racecar driver and yachting enthusiast Eddie Jordan.
BORKUMRIFF IV
This classic-looking Royal Huisman sailing superyacht (above) is celebrating her 20th anniversary of cruising. At 166 feet (51 meters), she tugs at traditionalists’ heartstrings even further due to her John Munford interior of rich mahogany paneling.
CARINTHIA VII
The late Heidi Horten, an Austrian renowned for her art collection, took delivery of this Lürssen (below) in 2002 and kept the yacht private straight through to her passing this June. Carinthia VII’s LOA of 318 feet (97.2 meters) and volume of 3,643 gross tons makes her extraordinarily unusual for her era. So, too, does a private owners’ deck with dedicated daytime and evening enjoyment hours.
HERE COMES THE SUN
Here Comes the Sun became the largest Amels launch at the time in 2016, hull number one of the Amels 272 Limited Editions series. Two pools, a sauna and steam room in the beach club, and 3,229 square feet (300 square meters) of private space for the owners are among the highlights. Here Comes the Sun is additionally a highlight of all the superyacht brokerage buys due to nearly 9,700 square feet (900 square meters) of alfresco areas.
LAUREL
The 240-foot (73.15-meter) Laurel is one of the largest yachts built in the United States, by Delta Marine in 2006. Notably, she has a guest stateroom that can convert to a sauna. Her library converts, too, for movie nights. Overall, the stately interiors are all accessible via an elevator that can accommodate a wheelchair.
SOARING
If your superyacht brokerage buys shopping list includes projects with amazing spas, don’t miss Soaring. She saw delivery in 2020 from Abeking & Rasmussen her for an owner who treasures luxe looks. Hundreds of mosaic tiles comprise a steam room in the spa. Elsewhere, some walls are backlit stone, framed in highly lacquered rich wood. Striking artwork, meanwhile, serves as the headboards for staterooms, including the master.
