While experienced yacht owners and charterers visit the Monaco Yacht Show each year, organizers and exhibitors are increasingly striving to entice newcomers. With that in mind, the latest evolution of the event’s “seducation” programming and access rolls out this September.
The show, which runs from September 28 to October 1, initiated seducation—“seduction” and “education”—last year as part of a three-year plan. The idea is to make finding specific exhibitors easier within special themed areas, and to provide helpful resources particularly for first-timers. For instance, last September, the Monaco Yacht Show introduced the Yacht Design & Innovation Hub. Then, it was a modest tent, in which leading superyacht designers presented new projects and jointly discussed goals like sustainability. This year, however, it will be triple the size. In fact, it will include a second-story conference room, for private meetings. Furthermore, it will integrate the longstanding Designer Gallery, where about two dozen studios historically exhibit.
Some of the other themed areas are moving or otherwise changing, too. Specifically, the Sailing Yacht Area shifts over to Quai l’Hirondelle, which sits on the inner side of the port. Additionally, the Dockside Area will feature a stronger concentration of superyacht builders, designers, and brokers, all of whom have direct ties to the yachts you can visit in the water. (A list of those yachts will come later this summer.) Finally, the Darse Sud tent, home to equipment and technology exhibitors, is gaining a Sustainability Hub. It includes companies, both established ones and startups, providing new or proven environmentally friendly solutions.
Of course, relative newcomers as well as old salts will find familiar exhibit areas. The Parvis Piscine tent continues to gather together yacht interior design and décor specialists, plus include the Upper Deck Lounge for complementary luxury products and services. If you’re shopping for a tender or watertoy, you’ll find Quai Antoine 1er has a good variety. The same exhibit area still contains luxury cars, too. The Darse Sud tent, meanwhile, brings together equipment and service companies. And finally, the Quai Albert 1er tent gathers maintenance and service specialists as well as yacht-related equipment.
Making first-timers’ visits even easier, the Monaco Yacht Show is bringing back its Sapphire Experience. It’s a VIP concierge service which arranges one-on-one appointments for you with exhibitors you want to meet, and admission to special events throughout the week. The Monaco Yacht Show is also continuing to reserve September 28, the first day, for specially invited guests. Sapphire Experience badge holders, Discover badge holders, and their respective representatives with Advise passes will have exclusive Dockside Area access. Other badge holders can visit the remaining portions of the show. All areas become accessible to all visitors starting September 29.
There’s yet another “seducation” opportunity the day before the show opens. The sixth Monaco Yacht Summit takes place at the Monaco Yacht Club on September 27. Pre-qualified existing or new owners and charterers can learn about developments pertaining to their areas of interest.
