The Wider-Pajot catamaran series continues to grow. Joining the fold is the Wider-Pajot Eco Yacht 88, with spaces rivaling far larger megayachts and a lower ecological footprint than most sailing superyachts.
Wider-Pajot is a partnership between Marc Pajot, who’s been involved in racing multi-hull design and construction since 1980, and Wider Yachts. Pajot purposely chose the Italian shipyard to build a series of performance catamarans with more environmentally friendly credentials because the shipyard is focusing on that technology. Wider prioritizes hybrid propulsion as well as RINA’s Green Plus environmental notation. Already, a Wider-Pajot Eco Yacht 145 is available for contract, as is a 115. They, as well as the Wider-Pajot Eco Yacht 88, employ all-aluminum construction, plus a hydrodynamic generator for the hotel loads. Additionally, solar panels feed electric propulsion when necessary.
The new sailing superyacht is smaller than her sister designs (88 feet, or 26.8 meters) for a few reasons. Firstly, Pajot believes the length is ideal for families stepping up in size, but not yet ready to exceed the 100-foot mark. Secondly, he believes the Wider-Pajot Eco Yacht 88 fills a good niche in the charter market. And, of course, he’s confident the stability of a catamaran design, combined with the environmentally minded performance, will attract more attention, too.
The space advantages of the catamaran design will certainly attract attention as well. The main saloon, for instance, measures a little more than 753 square feet (70 square meters). Just forward, meanwhile, the master suite provides 291 square feet (27 meters) of relaxation. Alfresco enjoyment whether underway or while at anchor comes on the expansive 538-square-foot (50-square-meter) flying bridge. Finally, indoor-outdoor leisure time should be all the more enjoyable in what the designer and shipyard consider their signature “VIP beach cabins.” The Wider-Pajot Eco Yacht 88 has two VIP staterooms leading directly out to the full-beam, expandable swim platform (above).
Thankfully, Wider-Pajot doesn’t forget about crew needs. Your chef has a 129-square-foot (12-square-meter) galley, while two dedicated engineering spaces are 108 square feet (10 square meters) each. A total of three to four crewmembers can stay aboard.
Wider Yachts can deliver the sailing yacht 20 months after contract. The yacht features two retractable centerboards and a boomless mainsail. Interior design is for you to personalize as you see fit.
