“Puro” translates to “pure” from Italian, and Ocean Alexander asserts that its new Puro Series represents pure yachting. It believes pure yachting blends global good looks and equally good performance. Customers will be able to not only get a good look at but also step aboard the Ocean Alexander 35P yacht, the first model, soon. She premieres at the upcoming Palm Beach International Boat Show.
The 35P, a.k.a. the Puro 35M, is a 114-footer (nearly 35-meter) with styling by Giorgio M. Cassetta. The shipyard chose Cassetta’s studio to bring new flair to its longstanding focus on oceangoing yachts. Cassetta lends the Ocean Alexander 35P yacht sporty, sharp, and arguably sculpted shapes that would look at home as much in American waters as international ones. Alfresco areas similarly invite owners and guests to soak up the sunshine and surroundings in whatever port they are visiting.
The styling combines with naval architecture from yet another Italian studio, NavalHEAD. The naval architects designed a hull capable of cruising shallow waters, with a nearly 7-foot (6.2-meter) draft. Simultaneously, they ensure good range with a fuel capacity upwards of 5,000 gallons (19,000 liters). All the while, NavalHEAD adheres to Ocean Alexander’s emphasis on a stable yacht in moderate to sometimes challenging seas.
Inside, the Ocean Alexander 35P yacht offers accommodations for 10, including a full-beam main-deck master. The first of the semi-custom series shows off a serene and subdued yet still-sophisticated ambience. Multiple woods create a warm backdrop for sculptural art and furnishings, for instance. Floor-to-ceiling windows welcome the sunshine into the saloon and dining area, as well as the cozy skylounge.
An area which customers will surely appreciate is the foredeck. Here, the Ocean Alexander 35P yacht has a wide, deep, convertible settee/sunbed facing the horizon. A glass windscreen fully forward, meanwhile, protects those reclining on another lounge covering the pool when it’s not in use. (The cushions are the same ones that turn the just-mentioned settee into a sunbed.)
“The 35P embodies our dedication to pushing the boundaries of luxury and innovation,” says Dan Mundy, Ocean Alexander’s head of global operations.
