The annual Miami Yacht Show starts eight days from now. Celebrating its 32nd year, the event is one of the last on the boat-show calendar for the winter season. Interestingly, the show is really two events, with the second, Superyacht Miami, a show within the show. Regardless, you can expect to find more than 400 boats and yachts ranging from tenders and dayboats to mega-size megayachts on display from February 13 to 17. Better yet, several yachts are making their American debuts at Superyacht Miami and the Miami Yacht Show. Here are some to put on your must-visit list.
1. Azimut S8. This 81-footer (24.63-meter) celebrated a worldwide premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. But, she hasn’t appeared on any other shores until now. Docked at the Miami Yacht Show, the 34-knot Azimut S8 (below) has a fittingly sporty profile. With your choice of two decor packages, too, the Azimut S8 suits buyers who want some personalization yet the quick delivery resulting from a project with a set technical package.
2. Bold. When you buy a megayacht, why be boring? That seems to be the philosophy behind the commissioning of Bold (top), among the yachts making their American debuts at Superyacht Miami. (Superyacht Miami occupies Island Gardens Deep Harbour Marina on Watson Island, a water taxi ride away from the main show.) In fact, the 279-foot (85-meter) Bold was announced as one of the largest yachts at the show back in December. Espen Øino and Silver Yachts devised a purposeful-looking globetrotter, featuring metallic paint.
3. Custom Line 120. Hull number one of the Custom Line 120 actually launched a few years ago. However, the builder didn’t exhibit her in U.S. waters, instead delivering her straight to her owners. So, the Custom Line 120 is among the yachts at long last making their American debuts at the Miami Yacht Show. She’ll be among a few Ferretti Group megayachts in the Superyacht Miami lineup on Watson Island.
4. 48 Wallytender X. Speaking of Ferretti Group brands, Wally comes to U.S. shores in the form of the 48 Wallytender X. “X” means she’s an outboard version of the 48 Wallytender, a super-sleek, super-fast day cruiser. How fast? Try a max speed upwards of 55 knots. She even cruises fast, reportedly at 40 knots, yet still capable of a 320-nautical-mile range. She will be part of the main Miami Yacht Show display, though, not on Watson Island.
