Three decades ago, one of the largest social superyacht gatherings in the world got its start. Since that time, it has raised tens of millions of dollars for thousands of at-risk youth in Florida. The Yacht Rendezvous, benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, is back for its 32nd consecutive year, and open to yacht owners and guests.
The Yacht Rendezvous is not just a social gathering. It is the world’s largest gathering of luxury yachts for a charitable cause. To date, it has resulted in more than $30 million assisting 12,500 children across Broward County. Twelve Boys & Girls Clubs help steer these kids onto a path for success.
This year’s Yacht Rendezvous takes place from November 7 to 9. It sees superyachts from 80 feet (24 meters) and up dock at Fisher Island, off Miami. In fact, if you took delivery of your yacht just this year, you can take advantage of a complimentary Honorary Commander sponsorship. This provides you with a slip at Fisher Island as well as admission for you and three guests to all of the events.
Regardless of how you attend, the events are spread between Fisher Island and the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne. Fisher Island hosts the ever-popular yacht hop the night of November 7. Owners, crews, and captains typically try to outdo one another in decorations and drinks. The following evening, you can attend the Enchanted Mansion Feast, Costume & Dance Party. Shuttles will transport you Saturday to the Ritz Carlton for a silent auction and cocktail party, followed by a Winter Is Coming Gala. In keeping with tradition, a high-profile entertainer performs that evening. This year, it’s Flo Rida (above), a Florida native, too. Two years ago, Jason Derulo, a pop singer, performed. He’s also a Club alumnus.
