The icy, metallic-blue paint job is one of the first things you’ll notice about the sixth Mangusta 104 REV yacht. It enhances her curvy styling and helps make her look fast even while simply lowering into the water on launch day.
The series represents the first Mangusta collaboration with Igor Lobanov. The designer re-interpreted the longstanding flowing lines characteristic of Mangusta maxi megayachts. It was important to keep some family feel, since the maxis have been incredibly popular for the Overmarine Group (parent company of the Mangusta brand). In fact, the Overmarine Group delivered more than 300 maxis over the 35 years prior to introducing the REV series.
Even with the family feel, though, Lobanov brought more modern looks. Arguably, Lobanov infused the Mangusta 104 REV yacht with styling that unfolds like waves as your eyes move from fore to aft. Even the floor-to-ceiling glass on the main deck and below-decks glass, all in black in profile, add to the appeal.
Although this launch video doesn’t take you inside, the sixth Mangusta 104 REV yacht should feature similarities to her predecessors. For example, she should have four staterooms below decks. Additionally, the 104-footer (32-meter) should look and feel ample on the main deck, since the interior is primarily lounging/relaxing space.
Since owners and their guests prefer spending most days outside, however, the flying bridge should get a lot of use. It encompasses 312 square feet (29 square meters). Sunning, good conversations, and watching approaching sandy shores come into view are all easy to enjoy on this level. Some of those shores, by the way, can have really shallow waters, since the superyacht’s draft is just 4’1” (1.5 meters).
Sea trials should see the yacht hit a maximum speed of 35 knots and a cruising speed of 25 knots.
