A lawsuit from a former yacht stew alleges sexual assault by music artist Christian Combs occurred during a charter. The suit names his father, Sean Combs, a.k.a. the music artist, music producer, and executive Diddy, as a co-defendant. Although it doesn’t claim he engaged in the behavior, it holds him liable as the primary charterer. Additionally, it contends he aided and abetted the behavior.
Grace O’Marcaigh, the former crewmember, filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on April 4. She claims Christian Combs violently grabbed and groped her in December 2022. O’Marcaigh also claims he drugged her and tried to force her to perform oral sex. The alleged behavior occurred aboard the superyacht Victorious in the Caribbean, which Sean Combs had booked for a two-week charter.
Furthermore, O’Marcaigh’s lawsuit indicates, Sean Combs “turned what was sold as a wholesome family excursion into a hedonistic environment.” It resulted in “an extremely hazardous environment,” too, with “unwanted exposure to unlawful drug use, sex work, and general chaos.” The suit states that women, some of whom she suspected were sex workers, were stumbling around or unconscious aboard the yacht. Additionally, “it was difficult to distinguish which bottles of alcohol were laced with drugs and which bottles were not.”
The former yacht stew alleges sexual assault took place in the 279-footer’s (85-meter’s) makeshift recording studio. The elder Combs wanted to be able to record late into the evenings. According to O’Marcaigh, around 5 a.m. one day, Christian Combs wanted to use the studio. She claims he was intoxicated and insisted she drink tequila shots from a bottle he possibly brought. “Under pressure and wanting to be polite,” she indicates in the suit, she did. When she attempted to return to other duties, the lawsuit states, Christian Combs violently grabbed her arm. He further forced her to drink another shot, O’Marcaigh claims, which she suspected was spiked. The situation escalated, she states, and Christian Combs physically assaulted and groped her.
The lawsuit includes a supposed transcript of an audio recording of the incident. The recording, the suit says, is from a music producer who was aboard during the charter. According to the transcript, O’Marcaigh tells Christian Combs, “Excuse me, you don’t touch my legs like that.” She also says, “take your hand off my ass.” Later, the younger Combs cornered her in the cinema and groped her, the lawsuit alleges. It also claims he removed his clothes and tried to force her to perform oral sex. Although they began fighting physically, the suit says, a fellow crewmember interrupted them. This then allowed her to leave the room.
As for Sean Combs, O’Marcaigh says he “fostered and encouraged an environment of debauchery.” Her suit also claims he “intentionally created an unsafe environment” permitting Christian Combs to believe he could sexually assault her. O’Marcaigh alleges Sean Combs’ staff informed him of the assault, and that he generously tipped the captain to buy his silence. Despite informing the captain of the incident prior to this, the former yacht stew alleges, he didn’t take the claims seriously. The captain isn’t a defendant, though O’Marcaigh also claims he retaliated and fired her in May 2023. He didn’t respond to our request for comment.
We further contacted Aaron Dyer, an attorney representing Sean and Christian Combs, for commentary. He didn’t respond. However, he previously provided a statement to the Associated Press and other media. “We will be filing a motion to dismiss this outrageous claim,” it says. It also calls the lawsuit “lewd and meritless.”
