Managed by IGY Marinas and owned by the hospitality company Enjoy Group, Marina Bahia Golfito sits on Golfito Bay. Geographically, it’s in proximity to the protected Osa Peninsula and two national parks. It’s further part of the Corcovado National Park Wildlife Corridor. This in turn means the waters boast extraordinary biodiversity. Altogether, sportfishermen, superyacht clients, eco-adventurers, and more seek the marina and its oceanfront hotel, Amaka Ocean Living Lodge, for their natural settings. Additionally, its restaurant and crew lounge cater to yachting visitors.
The MBG+ Service intends to raise the bar on their visits. For instance, superyacht clients can arrange everything from dockage to eco excursions. Those excursions include hiking in the rainforest, whale watching, dolphin encounters, night herping, and horseback riding. Furthermore, MBG+ applies to inquiries about Marina Bahia Golfito’s waterfront residences. Eleven villas and 40 condominiums are currently under construction. Since a Marriott Autograph Collection boutique hotel is coming, too, the concierge service is handling those inquiries as well.
Leading the MBG+ team is Lorelai Hocker (below), fluent in English and Spanish. She has a diverse background, bringing together tourism as well as gastronomy, project management, and customer service.
Overall, from the residential development to the marina, Marina Bahia Golfito is maintaining a focus on environmental responsibility. Together, the marina staff and the Enjoy Group support local non-profits engaged in coral replanting and shark management and conservation. Recently too, the Enjoy Group signed a memorandum of understanding with the International SeaKeepers Society, to foster cooperation.
