Though it has just 22 slips, Sunrise Harbor Marina in Fort Lauderdale regularly welcomes megayachts to 200 feet (61 meters). It’s one of the few in the city with that ability. Services should get a boost later this summer for all customers, since Bradford Marine is taking over management and operations.
Specifically, Bradford Marine takes over from the current managers, Suntex Marinas, on August 1. Michael Kelly, Bradford Marine’s president, says the team looks forward to building upon “the great work” by Suntex. He further says, “This marina provides a key expansion for us, as we’ll now be able to serve customers on two of South Florida’s major waterway.” While Sunrise Harbor Marina sits on the Intracoastal Waterway, its soon-to-be managers have long occupied acreage on the New River.
Sunrise Harbor Marina has a few advantages. For example, besides the above-mentioned berths, it has 2,500 linear feet (762 meters) of dockage, too. Captains and crew can use the on-site pool, tennis courts, fitness center, and barbecue area, among other amenities. A business center, covered parking, and 24-hour valet parking are convenient as well, especially for owners. Additionally, an abundance of shops and restaurants are walking distance away. In fact, the marina is adjacent to the Galleria Mall. Simultaneously, the marina is walking distance to the beach and the Hugh Taylor Birch State Park.
Bradford Marine says it has plans to refurbish the marina and host events there, too. Although details aren’t currently available, it pledges to reveal them in the next few months.
In the meantime, the acquisition marks the latest of a few for Bradford Marine. Last October, for instance, Bradford Marine acquired Roscioli Yachting Center. Prior to that, it had purchased Billfish Marina and Pipewelders Marine. The Roscioli site is now Bradford Marine West, while Billfish Marina is Bradford Marine East.
