This weekend marks the first-annual World Boating Day, which is a true global event. Its intention is to encourage all aspects of boating and yachting, including of course superyachting. Fittingly, World Boating Day coincides with the start of the summer cruising season and national Safe Boating Week in the USA. Here’s a sampling of World Boating Day activities, including ones you can join last-minute online.

MODEL MAKER GROUP VIRTUAL TOUR
Young, hopeful designers often cannot afford to fly around the world to visit specialty companies. Therefore, Italy-based Model Maker Group is hosting an online tour of its shop and its scale models. The company is behind some of the most extraordinarily detailed megayacht models. In fact, it created the model above, for the residential yacht Ulyssia.
PULINA EXCLUSIVE INTERIORS SUSTAINABLE LUXURY SESSION
Yet another virtual event, this is a virtual showcase of yacht interiors embracing sustainable materials and eco-conscious design principles. Notably, Alessandro Pulina, the studio’s founder, partnered with a research institute to uncover realistic sustainable décor solutions. He wants customers to enjoy the comfortably chic surroundings of a superyacht while knowing the materials are upcycled or repurposed.
