A funny thing happened to Modifox when it was designing and developing its two-in-one shoes last year. Initially, the idea was to provide the average person with a way to pop off the street-use soles instantly, hands-free, to wear the remaining slipper-like upper shoe indoors. Additionally, the idea was to create the upper shoe of a stay-clean, durable, and recyclable fabric. While Modifox succeeded on all these fronts, it found quite by accident that superyacht captains and crew wanted similar solutions for transitioning from dock to deck.
So, after conversations with 500-plus yachties, the company adapted the design. The Ocean Kiss line of shoes is out now, tested not only by lots of crewmembers, but also by the founder of Modifox. In fact, he ran a marathon in a pair to prove their durability and comfort.
Learn more about these shoes, which are already on the feet of dozens of crewmembers, in the April edition of the Megayacht News newsletter.

So, for example, this month we spotlight how efforts are underway to designate part of the North West Atlantic as protected waters, to preserve at-risk marine mammals. The yachting community already helped make similar areas in the North East Atlantic Ocean and the Baltic Sea protected. Additionally, we share news of four new contracts for Hargrave Custom Yachts. Similarly, we have news about the largest yacht in the history of Cantiere delle Marche. Finally, we detail how a merger has created a powerhouse international yacht-management company.
